Hog 4 Pc with Hog 2 wings

to control HOG4PC you need the nanohog (www.highend.com/products/controllers/Nanowing.asp) or and old hog3 programmer wing.
It can't be done by an hog 2.

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure the hog2 wings work fine with hog4 and it's just the pre-hog3 widgets that won't work with hog 4.


As far as console linking, I wouldn't unless all the consoles are running the same build of the software.

Oh, I thought he was talking about using older hardware with hog4

The widgets before hog 3 (meaning hog 2 and before require a firmware update witch can be bought, but the do not work with hog 3 and 4 by default

HOG 2 only had the expansion-wing which was connected via a 5-pin XLR.
If you have any Hardware that is connected via USB to a HOG2PC or HOG3PC system, these devices will work direct with HOG4.
During the times of iPC which was able to boot into HOG2 and HOG3 these wings had already been around (Programmingwing and Playbackwing).
The single-widgets might work or not, depending on their age, if it is not working you can buy an upgrade-licence (like already mentioned), if you connect the widget to a HOG4PC or HOG3PC it will tell you if it needs to be upgraded or not.

Thanks for all answers. I can't control Hog 4 Pc by Hog 2 Expansion Wing, but how about Hog 3 Playback and Hog 3 Proggrammer Wing? It's working via USB no via DMX, well maybe it will work with Hog 4? In my opinion Nano Hog is very good solution but for me to expensive, if all Hog system will attract me I will buy it, but no earlier than 1 year :(.

Yes H4PC will work with the Hog3 "blue" Programmer and Playback wings via USB....no upgrade required for this....simply download and install H4PC....plug in your wings and go!
You will still need a DMX widget to output though.

Yes HES devices.
But with OSC and Midi you can fake a lot in HOG PC, except Encoders and Faders
