can someone tell me how i can send MIDI Commands with a HOG4 Console to a Software like QLab. I din't found a way to write a Macro Comment, sending a Midi Note (via MS Command) to Qlab. It would be great to get help. Thanks!
I don't believe that Hog4 will send MIDI Notes, but it will transmit MIDI Show Control, which QLab will recognize. MSC is covered in section 19.1 of the Hog4 manual.
You can send out any Midi-Command you like via Midistring in the comment macros. This can be controller, notes, sys-ex commands and so on
See section 23 of the manual: MS[node type][node number]/[MIDI message] The node number is ‘h’ for a console, ‘i’ for a MIDI/Timecode Processor, and its net number. The MIDI message is in Hex. Example: MSh1/90473F
MLorenz is absolutely correct, I've done this into qlab before and works fine, just remember to do you midi patch on the mac and select the midi device on the hog4 in the control panel
Greetings all, I am very new to Qlab and sending MSC commands from the hog to qlab. I have followed the above commands and ever time it triggers cue 1 in Qlab. I could really use some more help as to what commands need to be for triggering more then just GO for cue 1.
MSC is something else than a Midinote. You need to tell the cue in Qlab to listen to a specific midi note. The whole system of sending midinotes has also changed in hog. There is now a nice editor to label midinotes an trigger them from commentmacros
