TouchOSC Templates (and problems)

First, are you using a HOG PC/ widget setup or an actual console? Hog PC setups do not enable Fader/encoder control, you must be using an actual console.

Also, make sure you have the latest Touch OSC template. When you have the trackpad visible, you should see the "POS" toggle button. It wasn't on the first template, but is on the newer one. (No version numbers, so this is how I tell the difference between template releases)

Also, something I ran into, you can only reliably have 1 OSC remote connected at a time. (Was able to connect a second device (output only, no feedback) but it ended up conflicting and crashing the desktop)

I had a similar issue controlling Faders/encoders from my ipad to Full Boar 4. It worked, and then after lunch it didn't. Rebooting the console and ipad restored connectivity.

The TouchOSC developer(not an HES employee) chose to use UDP as opposed to TCP for network communication. This means your Hog is never connected to TouchOSC in the true sense, and doesn't know if it is there. As a result, fader positions on the console are only sent when they change, i.e. when they are moved on console or TouchOSC. When moved from TouchOSC, the console is receiving a fader change by definition so it sends out the change.:(

There is no connection between TouchOSC and your Hog. You are just firing packets back and forth on a wireless network. I've seen TouchOSC get confused by long idle periods myself. Restart that bad boy - the console should be ok.:outtahere:

What I do is go into the options in TouchOSC and select "send ping" and I haven't had the idle issues you have had.

HOG4PC has blocked OSC for faders and encoders

Have a look at the Event viewer and you will see it
