Bug Report V3.2.5 B3414: DP8000 Crashes Upon Playback

Just to add, this bug is very repeatable.

Are you running the internal DP8000 on Hog 3PC? If so, is the external DP8000 set to the same net number as the internal DP8000?

Internal DP is running and set to 1. External DP is set to 2.

Couple of things:
1) If you are using a DHCP router make sure that neither the console or Hog 3PC is set to run DHCP server. That could cause problems.
2) If you are using a standard switch try changing all of your nodes (Consoles/DPs) to use static IP addresses.
3) Turn off all sACN and Art-net outputs for the external DP8000 that you are not using. Also make sure that the fixturenet and hornet networks are separated.

If these things don't help change the external DP8000 to net number 3 and patch a single desk channel to it. That will let us know if there is something wrong with the DP or if the logical node is causing problems.

3. Art-net in use on the External DP8000, but Hognet and Art-Net are on seperate network switches

I did switch the external DP to Net #3 and patched a single desk channel to it and had no issues. But as soon as I switched it back to 2, and logged in the Hog3PC first and then the console and started playing back anything, it started going through that same lockup again.

Again, this always only happens if you log in the Hog3PC first, and then the console. If you log the console on first and then the Hog3PC, we don't have any issues.

If it help I have video footage I can upload later today to show you what it is that we are doing and what the DP is looking like when it crashes. Let me know. Thanks!

What happens if you log on the PC and then the console but have the console join as a client and not as a server?

I believe I tried that scenario and it also crashed the same way. The show is now in operation for the day. I will try it again in the morning and let you know. Thanks.

I did try to login with the PC as console 1 running server first and Hog3 Console as console 2 as the client not running server. It only seems to happen when the PC is the originator of the show and the console logins after that.

I also tried turning off the internal DP on the PC as well with no change.

Update: Today I downgraded all consoles and processors to 3.2.4 and same problem occured. I will check into wiring and network switch next. Any other ideas to check?

On Wednesday I will be installing a new console and if necessary a different DP8000. I'm hoping this will shed some more light on to why this is not working correctly.

Michael I uploaded the files you asked for. Just for everyone else, we found the issue. The issue was a corruption of the file in the effects engine. Somthing in that portion of the show file had become corrupt and anytime you went to playback an effect, it would freak out the DP8000.
