Can you try this with a new show file? I assume this is the same show file you emailed us about with the merge issues. I am assuming it is related to the merge. If so then send us the show file and we will take a look.
The merge issue was with the same file, though I used a backup file (using the prior library file) and the issue is still present. You should have the show file.
Thanks for sending the show file. We were now able to get it to happen. It seems to be somewhat of a timing related issue and also related to the windows that are onscreen in some of your views. We have logs and dmps now to share with development. Thanks for the report. We will get it logged and fixed as soon as possible.
and on the same note, how can I store that I want LED independant in a fixture profile (edit fixtures) so that it defaults to independant or so I can pallette the setting (it won't store to a pallette either)
I would recommend parking the fixture into LED independent mode if that's how you want to use it. There is no access to default settings of control channel features in the fixture editor.
In terms of your new show, have you found any consistent behavior that crashes the desktop when selecting the mode? I remember when we looked at your show file our reproduction method involved recalling a view that contained several windows including the effects editor.
Looks like we might have found to base of the issue and it is related to changing the mode while the effects engine window is open and in focus. We are adding the details to our bug report right now and pushing to development.
Just a heads up that the problem with the mode crashing the desktop has been fully scoped, developed, and fixed now for our upcoming 3.2.4 patch. I will be testing the fix in a build next Monday for test.
I came in to try and replicate this today and now it won't for the life of me happen. You guys obviously saw it happening, but I can't seem to make it happen again.
I encountered this same problem on a recent show. After reading this thread and testing it does seem to only crash when the effects window is open.
The "control" "fixture shutdown" did not work as I expected too. But this could be me just getting used to how the fixture operates and responds. I was on a production where the console needed to stay live 24/7 for houselight control; shutdown would work, but only for a period of time until the fixture would awake. To bypass this I used the lampoff command which worked just fine.
In this specific show file I also had problems with "Record" "Remove" function not working (on any fixture). Corrupt showfile?
