Pre Vis Setup

Hey Guys!

So im in the process of building a pre vis rig. Wanted someone with more experience in the matter to make sure the setup will work how i intend. So any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hardware
Custom Built PC running windows 7
Hog iPC
Catalyst running on a G5
DMX Widget
DMX to Artnet Enttec Box
ADVC110 x2
KVM Switch

Software
ESP Vision 8 Universe
VW + RW 2011
Catalyst v4

Here is a flow of the setup.

My two major questions are

Will the output setup from the Catalyst to the PreVisPc work?
Is there a way to use one of the internal DMX outs but routed to Universe 8 to bypass having to buy the widget?

Hi,
I cannot answer your question regarding the catalyst but i don't see why you need the extra widget,can you just patch your catalyst on universe 4 of the IPC console and then convert to artnet for catalyst?
I would suggest adding a simple switch between your IPC console and ESP computer.

The reason i added the dmx widget was because i will be working with re designing parts of about 13 different shows along with new shows coming up and the catalyst is already patched at universe 8 so i would have to repatch each show. Unless there is a way to patch one of the 4 dmx outputs to universe 8. :confused:

This is possible.
Under SETUP - NETWORK
Select your internal DP-8000 and press SETTINGS
Here you can configure any physical DMX port to output any Universe you have patched from WIDGETS OUTPUT.
Plenty of detailed info in the manual on this.

I believe the iPC is pre configured to universes 1-4 on the 4 outputs. Unless there is a way around that I'm not aware of.

Update--- Checked the manual and confirmed that this is true.
