Strange behavior with cue lists- play, release, goto

Colin, sorry to hear of the troubles. Do you have an external DP8000 on this network or are you using the internal DP8000 with a widget on Hog3PC?

I am only using one DP2000 in the network.

So you have the laptop as net num 1 server, DP2K as net num 2, and H3 console as net num 2? The first thing I would check is to see if the fixture link's IP address settings for the internal DP8000 on the laptop are set to something wonky such as a weird static IP address. Nothing is patched to the internal DP8000 I presume.

In the network window:
Lenovo server- net 193- ip 192.168.1.194
Console client- net 190- ip 192.168.1.190

DMX processor 1- dp8000- ip 192.168.1.194
DMX processor 2- dp2000- ip 192.168.1.196

How about the fixture link settings on the internal DP8000? Is it reading outputs active?

Hey Colin. Sorry I have been out of the office this week. I downloaded and checked out your show file and everything looks to be okay with the show itself.

The network settings all look good that you have sent me and there is nothing from a configuration point that I would see causing the problems you are reporting.

So now I think the best way to approach this is from a standpoint of understanding when the behavior is occurring and when it is not occurring to determine what the catalyst for the problem is.

You said that sometimes after you record the next cue in the list you cannot press play to play the new cue. When this happens can you still use "goto cue #" to play the cue?

You also mentioned that when you press a different choose button that the chosen master won't change. When this happens, if you double press really quickly on that chosen master does it work? The reason I ask this is because it might be the case that a key is getting held down in software memory (although you can't see or know it is held down) which would prevent this from working correctly.

No, the goto doesn't work when this happens. My work around is to restart the desktop, and so far this works.
I will try quickly double clicking the chooser next time.

PS it's a straight forward show file the only different thing is I merged a new fixture(PRG OHM light). Just telling you in case there's a connection.

Hey fellas, same problems over here (which is why I'm searching the forums....) Fujitsu Tablet Win. 7, WHIII, Acer Notebook (server) Win7, DP2000, all on v3.1.9. My question is this: What should the gateway, netmask and DNS for each component be set to? Specifically the gateway and netmask. As the WH system works as multiple "virtual" network components (playback, programmer, server, etc.) would that have an effect on functionality. I've noticed this problem more so with the Hog3 console than the tablet. But yes, nothing shows as changing on the chosen master window, however if one watches the little box on the display over the "Choose" button, one can see the cues running. Usually anyway.
