dp8 not responding what could b the problem?

    Dear Brian,

    Its very hard to answer that question without any additional data. You might not be aware that the DP8000 support several different set ups and consoles.

    But quickly:
    - Did it ever work?
    - Same software in both WHOS Device (console/PC)?
    - Crossover cable or straight?
    - Hub, Switch or Router?
    - Connected to the wrong Ethernet port on the Desk or the DP8?
    - Desk set to Server only?
    - NO DHCP in the network?

    These are just a few things, so please when posting questions like this, include your system and also already tried measures.

    okay sorry about the lack of info!
    its the road hog console with playback wing, no network involved,
    and yes it works fine except for the two times the dp8 was not responding in the middle of two different shows

    What version of software is your Road Hog running?
    What is the XPE image?
    When the process dies, what are you doing updating/playing back/using the programmer?
    Are you crashing in a certain list each time?

    If might be best if you could send us your show file.

    I can't remember what version software but i think it's the latest we bought the board in jan 2011. I'm using the programmer when it crashes, don't have any copies of my show files with me at the time.
