iPC DMX and Ethernet ?

MarcSMarcS Registered User
Hey,

i have a question in case of planning a show:
is it possible to run on a iPC 3 DMX lines for lights and
at the same time the ethernet for mediaserver?
if so, how to patch? ..the first 4 universes are dmx the
next are ethernet?
if not, what do i need? another dp?

thanks in advance

marc

I assume when you mention "ethernet" you are asking about ArtNet.
The only way to have ArtNet with an iPC is to add a DP-8000 to your system.

    Hope this helps. :)

    thanks marty,

i was a bit confused, becouse hogpc software on the ipc says there is a
    dp8000 installed.

i never used a hog to run a mediaserver, well my next question is...
where do i patch the (hippotizer) on hogpc? i see 16 universes, the first 3
    are for dmx (lights)
    thanks again

Don't confuse the DP-8000 process with an actual DP-8000.
The iPC only has 4 univeses available (with no add-ons) all of which are only "accessable" via 5-pin DMX cables.

The only way to get DMX to the Hippo with your current config is to take a 5-pin DMX cable from your Port #4 of the iPC and go in that way. Then patch accordingly.

    Hope this helps. :)
