"Is a Chase" or "Learn Timing" and other ?s

Okay,, when automating a whole song without Timecode, for live heavy rock concerts is it better/easier to:

A) Make a cuelist a chase with the BPM of the song, and change the cue step lengths, and insert links to make them fit the parts of the song?

Side questions:
1. Can you enter 1/3 or .33 beats to do triplet style chases?

2. Is it better to create links to repeat choruses etc or repetitive cues, oris it better to copy and paste to create longer, non-repeating cuelists?

or

B) Enable "Learn timing" and fine tune any mistakes by entering values into the wait cell.

My shows usually involve alternating fixture/lamp bumps to a beat with changes in color, position and P/T effects occurring between depending on verse, pre chorus, bridge etc. With "16th note strobes" hitting some double-bass parts.

Thanks For the Input!

P.S. I talked to a guy that told me HOG has playback button wings with just rows of buttons (like on a Grand MA Light) not fader playback wings. Do they exist?

Sorry for the 4 questions in 1 post but i figured it better than posting 4 times
