Dimmer/Strobe issue

On a studio Spot 250. During Self test, the dimmer and strobe do not work. I have tried switching out the control chips.

Since the dimmer has two motors, how do I tell if the problem is with just one motor or both?

If it's just one then just one shutter blade moves. those motors go alot cause they are right next to the lamp and all the heat from it. they are the hardest ones to swap so check everything else frist. also try swaping the wires from one motor to the other, if it one motor and it moves to the other one then it NOT the motor. check the wires or the driver chips(there are two chips)

I just receiver the mouser catalog last week.

I swapped the wires and it had no effect, so I guess I have to change both motors.

Is there an inexpensive source for the stepper motors as well? I have already used the 4 I just bought from e-bay.
