Problem with install on iPC

Have you tried redownloading the file and unzipping it again? You may also want to confirm the download by using the checksum:

I have tried re-downloading and unzipping it twice but still no joy. I have used the checksum program and all is good

What version of XPe are you currently using?

Ooops! I see you are using v7.9. Please download iPC System Restore v8.2.2 and perform the upgrade from this environment. There are some needed components within the XPe environment that are not in your current image. Or you could download the new iPC System Restore v8.3.0 and avoid performing a sofware update altogether. Let me know how it goes.

Do I need to do a Full System Restore or just partial using the new version of XPe?

Do a full install. This will ensure that the system is in a known working state.

Hi,

today i downloaded the Full iPC System Restore Release 8.3.0. The Installation works fine. No Errors !

After the iPC boots again to the new Release the Error Message "Failed to communicate with the Hog iPC Front Panel" apears. (See Attachment: CameraShot of the Elo Screen)

I try to install a second Full System Restore to 8.3.0. Same Problem !

After i do a downgrade to iPC Full System Restore 8.2.0. Everythings works fine and i can work in my Shows.

Any ideas how i can upgrade to Full System Release 8.3.0 ??

Can you give me some more info about your system. For instance, what motherboard is installed? Also, have you tried to upgrade the software without performing an image?

What appears to be happening here is front panel drivers are not being found thus preventing the front panel from loading.

Can you also verify the image with the checksum to confirm that all data has been transfered correctly?

the iPC is using a Asus A7N8X-VM/400 Mainboard with 512MB Ram and a AMD Sempron K7.

I have also tried to Upgrade the running 8.2.0 Release with the manual iPC ConfigPanel to version 3.0.0 installation works fine. After a reboot the iPc starts up fine and i installed the Hog3 Upgrade. Installation works fine too. After a restart i can load a show. But all Faders are full and i don´t have any control with the panel. So i must connect a external keyboad to shut down the iPC.

The images and the installers are all checkesumed. I have do this after the second Full Release 8.3.0. All fine.

Could it be that the iPC is out of memory ? Are 512MB to less ?

DoubleYou81 : Did you say that you re-installed the image performing a full restore and all is well again? Installing more memory definitely would not hurt anything. The new shipping consoles today ship with 1gig of RAM but I do not believe this to be the root of the problem. We have been doing some research into the front panel firmware. Can you tell me what the front panel PLD version is as well as the front panel firmware version you are currently using? This information can be found in the Hog 3PC control panel under the information tab.

Chrislim : Can you give me some more information about your console? (Motherboard, RAM, Front panel PLD version, Front Panel Firmware version)

Here we have the same problem with our iPC will not work with new image.
8.2.2 image works fine after downgrade.

System:

Hog iPC
MB: ASUS A7N8X-VM/400
CPU: AMD Sempron 1,66GHz
Ramm: 512MB
Video: ATI 9250/256MB PCI (was replaced due to crashing of console)
Frontpanel PLD: v0
Frontpanel FirmWare: v1.2007.6.14
Frontpanel HardWare: v0

Has this issue of image upgrade been resolved? I have only just return to the venue to upgrade the desks and noticed this follow on to my original thread.

Are we saying that v8.3.0 is BAD and v8.2.2 GOOD?
