Default Show merge:Fatal Error

When tryting to merge a show, it "opens the source file", gets stuck on the loadign fixture type. After a few minutes of waiting, I cancel the action then get a Fatal error message. C++ run time error.

Error: Trap: 'not_empty()' is TRUE at line 68 in file h:\src\branch_v1-4-0-1\gut\components\system\comm\comm_pointer.h(may 9 2006), build 1129

Working on a big DL.2 show and not trying to start from scratch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.......

Scott,

I'm not seeing any existing defects relating to show merging that contain that particular error. Could you post the entire error text and stack trace?

Have you tried just waiting it out? Sometimes it can take quite a while for the system to pull up the list of items to be merged.

Thanks.

Just for INFO:

You have to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes.
I did a show merge with many custom made fixtures and i took nearly 15 minutes (loading process). After loading it works really fast and with no problems.
If you cancel the loading process you get this kind of error message.
So go for a coffee is a workaround .

Best regards Roman

We're aware that loading type information can take much longer than it should. We're tracking this problem in defect #9058. Roman, I've added your comments to the bug.

Thanks.
